After reading an article about Mrs. Palin I am compelled to address this issue, ubiquitous across the evangelical political scene:

Palin: Iraq war ‘a task that is from God’

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a “task that is from God.”

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it “God’s will.”

God is not a political entity! Am I the only one irked by statements like this? It’s akin to her saying we have to build this pipeline because God wants it to be done. Well, sorry to burst her bubble, but she isn’t a prophet, and doesn’t the Bible say something about false idols?

I feel religion is a good force, and have no problem with “In God We Trust” and other such things, but this just strikes me as…odd.

You’ll notice I’ve not mentioned her daughter in either of my blogs. The situation is just too funny in it’s blatant hypocrisy that I cannot blog about it without making it into the big joke that it is.
